What is a probate valuation
Even when someone dies the Tax people want their share. This is before any beneficiaries can be paid out. The purpose of probate valuations is to give an account of the value of the estate so the amount of inheritance tax can be calculated for deduction.
This can be a complicated and time consuming job and is normally instructed by the solicitor
Our service takes care of the material assests, the value of which is given as the price of the item, if it was to be sold at auction. As an insurance valuation deals with the price of replacing an item and has extra factors added which increases the value, a probate material asset valuation simply deals with the value of the item alone.
The valuation can be further detailed which is useful to establish the value of any assets to be inherited as specified in the will. This is important for the beneficiary's capital gains tax calculations in the future. This is not included in the price of a probate valuation and will be classes as a further valuation which is chargeable
